Biafra: Buhari sends governors from north to southeast on "peace mission" (photos)
President Muhammadu Buhari sent governors from north to southeast in an attempt to secure peace after disturbances erupted in Abia state over the deployment of the military to the area. Governors are expected to visit the states of Cross River and Rivers. The five governors team is led by Kashim Shetimma (Borno), who is also the chairman of the Northern Governors' Forum. "It is important to note that the delegation will reassure its counterparts in the south-south and south-east that all Nigerians are free to stay in all parts of the country, especially in the north, and that the whole North is with the southeast people in this period of increased tension, "according to a statement issued by Tambuwal's spokesman, Malam Imam Imam, on behalf of the other governors. "The visit has the blessing of President Muhammadu Buhari and the consultations will continue with all the interested parties to improve the unity and the peace in the federation".
