Big failure for PDP as home of former Reps speaker Dimeji Bankole beaching party, moving to ADP before 2019

Former House Speaker, Rt Hon Dimeji Bankole, officially dumped the People's Democratic Party (PDP) when he shifted his structure to the Democratic Action Party (ADP).

NAIJ.com has confirmed from ADP that the former speaker and key stakeholders in the PDP have announced his defection in Abeokuta, the capital of the Ogun state.

He then registered as a member of ADP with the presence of all 20 presidents and other parties involved.

Sun Adeleye, ADP's public secretary at Ogun, while asserting this, urged members of the party to remain focused and committed to the problems that affect it.

Speaking after the registration, Bankole said the party's victory in the upcoming general election required the efforts of all members. He talked about the need for them to avoid any behavior that could jeopardize its success.

Rt Hon Dimeji Bankole assured the members that he now attended the party and then declared his full support for the party.

"He emphasized the need for members of the Democratic Progressive Party (ADP) to remain focused and committed, as well as avoidance actions that could jeopardize the party's success.

Adeleye said: "The former spokesman said that the party's victory in upcoming polls required concerted efforts from all its members.

ADP at the expanded executive meeting in the state has directed membership enrollment should begin in all 20 local government areas.

The party says all local government committees will be put in place to facilitate the inauguration of the ward chiefs.

The party continues to say that all elective positions will be open to all aspirants.

He counted future warriors to show the legal interest set out in the Election Act.

National Assembly chairman Wale Egunleti has forced members to be ready for the upcoming task of urging them to ensure that the party wins at all levels by 2019.

Bankole fugitives only came close to a week after Babatunde Gbadamosi, a former veteran of Lagos state on the PDP platform joining ADP.

Gbadamosi, who debated the PDP ticket for the Lagos presidential election in 2015, joined the Democratic Action Party (PDP) on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
